To most of us, that’s an eye-popping drop. But for Jenner — who runs beauty, fashion, and drinks businesses — it’s more of a dent than a disaster. She still has an enormous following of about 392 million people.
Jenner, who turns 28 this Sunday (August 10), ranks among the most-followed people on the planet. In fact, she has even more Instagram followers than some of her equally famous sisters, like Kim Kardashian.
The timing of the dip had fans convinced it was linked to a burst of celebrity drama, with Jenner seemingly caught in the middle of a rumored feud between her close friend Hailey Bieber and singer-actress Selena Gomez.

The drama explained
For years, gossip has swirled about tension between Bieber and Gomez — especially since Gomez famously dated Justin Bieber before Hailey married him. This latest flare-up began when Gomez posted a lighthearted video poking fun at herself for over-laminating her eyebrows.
Not long after, some people believed Jenner threw subtle shade at Gomez by sharing something on her Instagram Story that looked a little too coincidental.
That impression was enough for some to label Jenner and Bieber the “mean girls” of Instagram, and the criticism came fast, accusing them of mocking Gomez.

Bye Bye followers
Plenty of Gomez’s supporters decided to make a statement by unfollowing Jenner.
Within just a few days, reports suggested 124,711 people had dropped her from their feeds.
Hailey Bieber’s account also took a hit during the same period, with reports claiming she lost about 922,000 followers.
Jenner’s response
When a TikTok creator posted a video trying to piece together the rumored feud, Jenner jumped in to address it directly.
“This is reaching.” she wrote. “No shade towards Selena ever and I didn’t see her eyebrow posts! U guys are making something out of nothing. This is silly.”
Selena Gomez also stepped in to clear the air, replying to the post with: “Agreed @kyliejenner. It’s all unnecessary. I’m a fan of Kylie!”
