Lizzo’s fans quickly caught on to the reference, with many pointing out how it tied into the recent chatter around Sydney Sweeney.The “Truth Hurts” singer sported a pair of snug, light-wash denim shorts in the teaser clip. In the song, she brought up the 27-year-old actress, who has been in the spotlight ever since her jeans commercial aired — an ad that stirred controversy, with some online critics going so far as to claim it carried undertones resembling Nazi propaganda.

This all unfolded just days after former President Trump chimed in on the conversation, calling the ad “fantastic” upon learning that Sweeney is registered as a Republican voter.
