Maxwell, who is still serving her sentence after being convicted in 2021 of child sex trafficking connected to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, was questioned by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche.
The interview lasted for two days inside FCI Tallahassee, a women’s low-security prison in Florida, and Maxwell gave details on several high-profile figures, including Musk.
She explained: “We were — or a bunch of us, I don’t even remember how many we were, but not many of us.”
“We went to another friend’s island… Epstein, he was not there… And we were there together for, I want to say, three or four days, something like that in my memory. And Mr. Musk was present for that.”

Blanche followed up by asking: “And do you know whether Mr. Epstein knew Mr. Musk?”
Maxwell replied: “I believe they did. And the only reason I say that is not from my memory, but because I saw — I think I saw — my memory is that in discovery, they were communicating on email.”
Maxwell also mentioned Trump during her interview, explaining that she never once saw him act in an inappropriate way around anyone.

“The president was never inappropriate with anybody. In the times that I was with him, he was a gentleman in all respects.”
On August 22, Trump himself commented that some people named in the Epstein files “don’t deserve to be there.”
He responded: “I’m in support of keeping it open. Innocent people shouldn’t be hurt.”
“You have a lot of people that could be mentioned in those files that don’t deserve to be because he knew everybody in Palm Beach.”
For weeks, Trump’s administration had been facing increased pressure to make public the so-called Epstein files, with speculation that they might include an alleged “client list” of wealthy and powerful individuals.

That said, the Trump administration reversed course, announcing that all FBI files connected to Epstein, including grand jury testimony, would in fact be released.
